Lonard Young a/k/a “Demolish Beatz” was born on March 29th, 1987 in the heart of East St Louis. Growing up an only child he recalls his Father playing music non-stop around the clock and Demolish was deeply influenced by his fathers’ love of music. At the age of 6, his passion for music grew even stronger when his father bought him a small Casio keyboard. Other kids were playing with Legos, but Demolish was banging on keys and learning how to sample and sequence songs. In 2004 he completed his 1st beat, on the Play Station game MTV Generate, and he knew that this was his calling in life.

In 2005 he produced his first song with the Artist Jason Mask Da Booth entitled “Get With Me”. Since then he has worked with several major recording artists including Tech N9NE, Krizz Kalico, Big Scoob, Stevie Stone, and Cognito to name a few. When asked what his best body of work has been thus far? He quickly answers, “Far Out” a song he produced that features Tech N9NE and Stevie Stone. His greatest accomplishment thus far in the industry would clearly be the part he played in Producing the #1 Independent Album in the world, Tech N9NE’s The Gates Mixed Plates. He produced 6 tracks total for the album. The Gates Mixed Plates was number one on the Billboard charts and to date has sold well over 100,000 units. His major influences include Atlanta Producer Shawty Redd, Chicago Producer Ekko Da Villain, and St Louis Producer Beatboxerz.

Demolish has created his own unique style which has been characterized in the industry as South meets West, mixing the snap along southern swag with the west coast funk and dunk. He has built a reputation in the industry as being the Synth King, because of his vast knowledge and expertise of using Synthesizers in his production. Aspiring to be the most feared Producer in the industry he dreams to one day work with Young Jeezy (his favorite rapper), Monica (his favorite R&B Vocalist), and Lady Gaga (his favorite Pop artist). His mission in the industry is to bring newness and innovation by constantly pushing himself to experiment with new sounds and instruments.

In 2006 he elevated his career by developing demolishbeatz.com a website that allowed artists of all genres to browse and purchase his beats from anywhere they had an internet connection. He began to develop a steady clientele and during his best month sold well over 40 beats. This caught the attention of Mike Landau, President of Phat Buddha Productions and Fly Moves Productions. Landau recalls, “The first time I heard Demolish Beatz I knew there was something special there. We were at the beginning stages of starting our production company, Da Farmacy, and we felt he would be a perfect fit to the team.” In 2011 Da Farmacy was created in partnership with Demolish Beatz, and Phat Buddha Productions with a goal to provide affordable world class production in a world class recording facility. Demolish has come a long way as a producer, but understands that he has a long way to go and with the development of Da Farmacy he is well on his way to make that happen.
